Nine Holes and 18 tees: you’re guaranteed a different experience on the Front and Back 9s. Men play from the White tees on the Front 9 and Black tees on the Back 9, while women play from the Reds on the front and Blues on the back.
The first five holes follow the top of Round Hill with beautiful views over the surrounding South Downs National Park, down to the sea and the city of Brighton and Hove. No matter whether Lady Luck has handed you a sunny, grey or blustery day, it’s an amazing place to spend some quality time hitting the little white ball.
Follow the path from the 5th green around to our signature hole, the 6th or ‘Drop Hole’. Choose your club carefully and make sure you check what the wind is doing before you step up to the tee. The shot should be straightforward, but it rarely is.
Once in the valley, wind your way through picturesque holes 7 and 8; keep an eye out and you might spot a deer or two on the banks. Then on to the 9th tee, where you face an uphill tee shot to bring you in view of the 9th green, in front of the clubhouse.
From there you can celebrate the end of a challenging 9 holes with a drink in the cosy clubhouse or continue the adventure with the back 9, which is arguably more difficult. The different tees will present you with new challenges to finish with a good score.
Either way, whether you choose a brisk 9 holes or the full 18 holes, you are in for a real links-downland golfing experience and a true test of skill.
